James Follett was born in 1939 in Tolworth in Surrey and is currently moving towards the south coast at about 1/2 a mile a year. James lives in Surrey with his wife, two black and one ginger cats.( Names not known) He was blinded in an accident as a child but his sight was restored in his early teens. He trained to be a marine engineer and also spent some time hunting for underwater treasure in the early 1960's, filming sharks, designing powerboats at Pioneer Designs Godalming till 1975. James did writing technical material for the British Ministry of Defence (MOD) before becoming a full time writer in 1976.
James has written some twenty
novels & numerous radio plays and television
dramas. With the very successful thriller
Mirage,
and
Tiptoe
Boys which was filmed as WHO DARES WINS. For
the last six years James has been in the top band of 100 authors for most borrowed
books from public libraries in the United Kingdom. In 1997/98/99 there were
only 130 authors who qualified for top band with only 104 in 1996. ames's novels
have been translated into 11 languages and he is one of the few British authors
whose books have been published in China and Japan

This is a science-fiction thriller based in a West Sussex village, which becomes cut off from the rest of the world after a UFO incident. A local dignitary takes advantage of an obscure Act of Parliament to seize power and impose his rule on the local population. The community descends into moral anarchy and a civil war breaks out - culminating in the trial of one villager for witchcraft The book is approximately 190 000 words in length

James Follett is relatively unique in the fact that he has published, to wide acclaim, alternately both radio fiction and action thrillers and science fiction in print and has also worked in TV and film. James has written some 20+ novels and some 45+ radio plays. Two episodes of the BBC TV series Blake's Seven a science fiction show. Two episodes of Crown Court a TV drama series set in a crown court. So what is he most known for?
In one word Earthsearch, This was a radio series the first started as ten episodes then a second series Earthsearch Deathship was produced also ten episodes long.
